Created for Vogue Portugal’s issue dedicated to Creativity, Future Perfect began with a fascination with Richard Avedon’s pioneering approach to beauty,

As the concept developed with hairstylist Neil Moodie, Da Costa became interested not in looking back at Avedon’s era, but in his instinct to create imagery that felt entirely new- unexpected, even jarring to the audience of its time.

That became the ambition for Future Perfect- to create a beauty story that similarly disrupted expectations. Through radical shapes, colour, and exaggerated forms, Da Costa and Moodie, with make-up by Lucia Pierroni, set out to create images that might leave the viewer slightly perplexed, but never indifferent,

The intention was simple: to make the reader feel someting.
